Health

As the saying goes, “There is nothing more important than your health”. As givers, we can help others achieve better health.

Health promotion, service provision and disease prevention offer numerous giving opportunities. You may want to support an area of physical or mental health that has affected you or a loved one, such as cancer, heart disease or depression. There are also many other specific health conditions and programs that need your help.

Here are some key health areas in Western Australia.

Aged care

Australia’s ageing population presents a significant concern for health care services as well as an opportunity for you to make a big difference to a large proportion of the community.

Ambulance and emergency services

Support the provision of vital emergency and paramedic response services to metropolitan, rural and remote communities.

Disability

One in 12 children in Australia is born with a disability. You can help to improve service provision to people with disabilities to allow them to experience quality of life and inclusion in the community.

Early childhood development

Become a champion of early childhood development and support improved outcomes for all children at critical stages of their development.

Health facilities

Fund the building and establishment of new health facilities, or finance the improvement and renovation of existing structures and services that meet critical needs in the community.

Health promotion

Encourage improved health outcomes for all Australians by facilitating the promotion of health awareness and strategies for improving health, as well as disease prevention education.

Indigenous health

Indigenous Australians experience reduced health outcomes compared to other Australians. You can make a difference by furthering work in the areas of health education, promotion of illness prevention, and increasing basic health care amongst vulnerable indigenous communities.

Mental health

Mental health issues affect one in five Australians each year. Your giving can help to provide vital support and services to Australians from all walks of life who experience mental illness.

Rural health

People living in rural and remote areas of Australia often experience compromised health and have less access to health care than Australians in metropolitan areas. Contributing to rural health care helps these Australians to have better medical treatment and an improved quality of life.

Another health-related area that offers diverse opportunities for philanthropy is medical research.
